Summer is a good time to visit other drawing groups.

Summertime affords the opportunity to draw in beautiful places.  There are sketch groups located in lovely locales, and dropping in for a session while on vacation is an enjoyable way to meet other artists and experience a glimpse into communities of artists working in every corner of New England.  Here are a few groups we recommend.  If you have a favorite group you frequent during the summer months, please share by sending me an email with the details.

Westport Art Group
On June 24, the 6th annual Go Figure! Show and reception will be at the Westport Art Group's (WAG's) center, 1740 Main Road, Westport, MA, from 5-8 pm.  This informal gathering features drawings and paintings done in the past year by attendees of the weekly figure workshop; refreshments will be served.  The figure workshop meets weekly on Wednesday mornings from 9 am-noon at the WAG center.  (Artists need not be members of WAG to participate.)  Fees are $15 per session or $40-50 if paid on a monthly basis.  Artists provide their own materials; there is no instruction.  For more information, please call Carolyn Winter at 401-316-8272.
Provincetown Art Association and Museum
Provincetown is, of course, a well-established destination for artists.   Below is the info for their sketch schedule:
Life Drawing: Tuesdays and Fridays 9:30am-11:30am, year-round.
No pre-registration required. Walk-ins welcome. Male and female models provide a variety of poses. Easels are provided, but participants must bring all other supplies.Fee: $10 per session, $45 for 5 sessions.

Rockport Art Associaiton
Another famous destination for artists,  the RAA schedules a variety of sessions working with a model, both indoors and outdoors.  The shorter pose Monday night sessions run from 7-9:30, and more session information can be found at the following link:
