Join us for a 6 week in-depth class in sculpting the nude female figure from life in natural clay. Dan Myers, QAA's award winning sculptor and teacher, will guide all artists at every level in a systematic, hands-on method of creating a likeness of our model. The course will include gesture and pose selection, armature building, bone and muscle anatomy, details of features, use of specialized tools, encouragement of individual artistic expression, photographs of the leather hard stage, firing in a kiln, patina and mounting for exhibit. At least 20 pages of photos and reference materials will be supplied and a CD of photos of each stage will be available at the end. Class fee is $206 for QAA members (include extra $20 for membership) which includes everything: clay, model fee, use of tools, and firing in a kiln to permanent terracotta. The class will be offered on 6 Wednesday nights, starting Wednesday, October 5 , 2011 from 7 to 10 pm. Maximum class size is 7. Discount available for US service personnel.
