Figure Drawing at Academy of Realist Art, Boston

Sat. 10 - 1 p.m. Oct. 1 - Nov. 19

Thurs. 6 - 9 p.m. Sept. 29 - Nov. 17

Instructor - Emmy De Musis

Rendering the human form is the most difficult task in drawing; the beginning stages of construction are the most important. This 8-week course will address these early stages and their challenges. Working from the nude model, students will be given a step-by-step system that works to accurately capture gesture, proportion and body type. From this general block-in we will advance toward an exploration of the figure's specific contour and shadow line. This course helps students to master the early stages of figure drawing by practicing it. Most poses will be 2 weeks in length. All levels welcome. Cost $300.
